"In life's pursuit of purpose, remember that it is not we who choose our mission, but the mission that chooses us, guiding us towards growth, fulfilment, and the realisation of our greatest potential."
I'm astounded that we're already approaching March; how did 2 months go past so quickly?
As we approach March, I reflect on Silver Sirens's remarkable journey and the incredible growth our community has experienced.
Although we officially mark our anniversary in March, the seeds of this transformative movement were planted long before. It all began in my little studio apartment, where I sought simplicity while pursuing a new path as a baby Psychotherapist. There, for the first time, I met "Stacey," a woman grappling with the challenges and fears of ageing – feelings of invisibility, the loss of youth, and societal pressures.
Working together, we confronted these fears and reframed them as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. My mind swirled with questions and ideas about ageing, so much so that I kept a pen and paper by my bedside to capture the flurry of inspiration.
I initially resisted this calling, even breaking out in hives and ultimately screaming my surrender to the universe while swimming laps at the beach. As I've often said, our mission chooses us, and Silver Sirens had undeniably chosen me.
Over the coming weeks, I'll share more about the birth of the Silver Sirens concept and the remarkable women who have joined us.
In addition to our birthday celebration, our focus for March is Career Transitions, a topic close to many of our hearts. Midlife is a pivotal time for reevaluating our paths, and for some, this means starting a business, retraining, or closing a company to focus on family.
Research from Harvard reveals that women reach their career peak in their 60s, making this an ideal time to pivot and embrace new opportunities. This month, we'll explore the theme of Career Transitions and provide content and events to support you on your journey. Join us in embracing the Silver Sirens' mission to redefine ageing and seize opportunities with change.
